Description: Pyruvate carboxylase is an enzyme that bonds the carboxylation reaction changing pyruvate to oxaloacetate. The equation can be written as pyruvate + CO2 + ATP + H2O --> oxaloacetate + ADP + Pi + 2 H+ Pyruvate Carboxylase uses oxygen, co2, ATP, and biotin in order to produce oxaloacetate. The first that attaches to Pyruvate carboxylase is biotin, then Co2 and then H2o the last one to attach to the enzyme.
