Description: Pyruvate carboxylase is an enzyme that bonds the carboxylation reaction changing pyruvate to oxaloacetate. The equation can be written as pyruvate + CO2 + ATP + H2O --> oxaloacetate + ADP + Pi + 2 H+ Pyruvate Carboxylase uses oxygen, co2, and ATP in order to produce oxaloacetate.
